PODs, a locally owned family company, started
trading in Townsville district July 1968 as a concreting and
plastering firm. Steadily expanding their operations to include
excavation equipment, and further developing the business in
subcontracting to local builders for the construction of concrete
slabs for new homes. 1979 saw the acquisition of a pest control
license which allowed PODs to install termite barriers around
the new homes.
From the time PODs started treating house slabs
in 1979 to the present time we have treated over four thousand
homes. We have made it our practice to contact our customers
annually to advise them of the need to have their homes checked
for any barrier breaching or bridging by termites. We inspect
the present effectiveness of the barrier and the need, if any,
of barrier repair or replenishment on these homes. We thoroughly
inspect from roof void to footings, including landscaping and
supply a meaningful written and photographic report, that can
be relied upon, is issued to our customers along with a complementary
internal domestic pest spray and certificate. The service has
become the cornerstone of our business.
We believe that our attention to detail, the
on-going education of our staff and the good reputation of our
work results spread by satisfied customers has not only allowed
us to grow in the housing industry, but be successful in obtaining
many government contracts and extending our services to the
Cooktown and Burdekin areas.

products, equipment and systems are regularly incorporated into
